A small, technically serious team working on a problem that matters.
T.R.I.N.E.T.R.A — Tactical Research and Intelligence Network for Emerging Technologies, Robotics and Autonomy — is a defense intelligence research lab founded in 2026 and based in Guwahati, Assam.
We are a two-person founding team. We are not a large organization. We do not have deployed products, military contracts, or external funding yet. What we have is a clear technical roadmap, a working hardware prototype in field testing, and a conviction that India needs to build its own intelligent defense systems.
We are based in Northeast India — a region near some of India's most sensitive borders and one that has historically been underrepresented in the country's deep technology ecosystem. We think that proximity to the problem matters. We are building here deliberately.
Team identity: Individual team member names and photographs are not published for operational security reasons. We are a defense research organization and we apply appropriate information security to our own personnel as we do to our systems. India imports most of what it uses to defend itself. That is a vulnerability.
India spends over $75 billion annually on defense and imports more than 60 percent of its equipment from foreign countries. That means foreign governments have meaningful leverage over the technology India's military depends on. Strategic self-reliance in defense technology is not an abstract goal — it is a concrete security requirement.
The most important layer of modern defense technology is software, AI, and autonomous systems. Drones that navigate and make decisions without pilots. Ground vehicles that operate in terrain too dangerous for humans. Intelligence platforms that process sensor data faster than human analysts. Cyber systems that detect attacks before a person notices them.
India has world-class engineering talent. The problem is not capability — it is the absence of focused, serious research organizations working on these problems with real hardware and honest methodology. T.R.I.N.E.T.R.A is our attempt to be one of those organizations.

We follow one rule consistently: we do not describe something as built until it is built, tested, and the test results are documented. The status labels on every program dossier reflect where the program actually is, not where we want it to be.
When DROGGO completed its first outdoor field test, we updated the status to Field Testing and wrote exactly what the test confirmed: forward and backward mobility, 360-degree camera operation. We did not claim autonomous navigation because we have not achieved it yet. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
We think this approach builds more durable credibility than inflated claims, attracts better collaborators who want real problems, and produces better engineering because honesty about what is not working is the first step to fixing it.

We are based at the Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology, Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam — 781014. Northeast India is where we are from and where we are building. The region sits at the crossroads of South, Southeast, and East Asia, adjacent to some of India's most operationally significant terrain.
Building a defense technology lab in Northeast India rather than Bangalore or Delhi is a deliberate choice. Proximity to the operational context matters. The talent is here. The problem is here. We are here.
